BETH (Blog Editor + Admin)Blog of choice: Tate Blog She is the front of house lady who at work and outside, dabbles in photography, art, design, film & ceramics. Not able to stick to just one medium, Miranda July idol #1. MJ is the photo on her phone, computer, favourite author, filmmaker, artist and fortune teller. Now, Beth is just waiting for the day when Miranda sends her future with a prediction of their creative collaboration. |
KIM (Projects)Blog of choice: I’m Revolting The gem behind the extensive range of projects at CV is lovely little lady, Kim Brockett. She loves work for a whole bunch of reasons… For the fabulous people and the fabulous Craft Vic shop and the fact that we stock the fabulous Tara Shackell, just to name a few. Yes, Kim definitely has a soft spot for Tara’s ceramics, with a whopping 19 pieces and counting. |
PAUL (Marketing)Blog of choice: MOMA When Paul isn’t enjoying his 30c discount on his Cumulus coffee, he is expending great energy being the man behind the mirth in the office. Out of the office, our jokester enjoys curling up in bed with a good book, with the New Yorker and Flann O’Brien’s Third Policeman featuring highly on his trusty reading list. Oh and Paul cannot imagine life without his teeth. They are nice teeth. |
JOE (Director)Blog of choice: The Craft Blog He’s the man that lives and breathes art. He paints small abstract canvases at home, whilst forever experimenting with new ideas in the office. Daydreaming of working one day with Goya, Joe jumps back to reality and satisfies his need for an art fix by purchasing some works by Anika Cook from our shop before going home to his treasured ceramic urn by Stephen Benwell. |
MILLY (Shop: Projects)Blog of choice: Katherine Bowman A maker herself, she’s the star tie between the makers and CV. Talented jeweller Miss Milly Flemming knows the lingo, she understands the process and she is in their world. Meeting the makers and working with them is what it is all about for her. Now she just hopes for the day where she doesn’t only work with Katherine Bowman in the shop, but also on a joint jewellery project. |
CARMEL (Shop: Manager)Blog of choice: The Design Files She has been eyeing off the Hermie Cornelisse ceramic bowl for forever, she is our meticulous Retail Manager, Carmel. Always smiling, Carmel feels very lucky to meet all of the creative people that she does. In saying that, Carmel was not exactly dealt short in the creativity gene herself, enjoying knitting and baking thoroughly. PS she finally bought that bowl the other day. |
ANITA (Shop: Asst. Manager)Blog of choice: Theotini Art, movie and music junky, Anita Cummins is the culture queen of Craft Vic. A maker of all trades, master of every, Anita enjoys knitting scarves, creating installations & sculptures and drawing. Animal Collective, Architecture in Helsinki & Bon Iver are likely to be keeping her company through the making. That’s if some playful, but strange indie flick isn’t on in the background. |
ERNESTO (Web)Blog of choice: Fast Company Intrigued with the way technology is forever enabling and transforming society, it’s no wonder Ernesto found himself in the role of web man extraordinaire. Sitting on his laptop implementing ideas from concept to reality, Ernesto dreams of living in Buenos Aires, where he can be in good company and drink plenty of hot drinks. But for now, he is happy to settle for reading Fast Company in his lunch break. |
